Sand Amination

Last month, a very interesting activity was held for us, Art Club members. It was 'Sand Animation'. There were four sessions in total. Most of the Art Club members paricipated in this activity, however it was a sad thing that the secondary 4 students were not allowed to participate as they were going to have their 'O'level' examinations. During the first session, there were two proffessional instructors to teach us the basics of sand animation and explain to us what it is all about. Then we were separated into several groups with the usual format of having at least two different level of students in the group. Next we proceeded to explore with the sand. My group consisted of a secondary 2 student and two of my friends, HL and Tiff. On the second session, we were given a task to do. We had to create a scene with the sand using the sand animation techniques that were taught to us. On the third session, we were asked to record the scene that we did one group by one group. While waiting for our turn, HL, Tiff and I played a game called '' Ants attack'' with another of our friend, JH, from another group. We laughed continuously and played happily. HL, JH and I teamed up and attacked Tiff's sand boundary. On the last session, we were taught how to edit the video of the scene we had done, along with the other scenes from the other groups to form a complete video. It was truly a one in a lifetime experience for me. During the four weeks, I had enjoyed myself greatly and learnt lots and lots of new things. I will never forget this experience that I had.

A fun day

On one of the fridays, during my CCA, Art Club, there was an interesting and fun game organised by the Art Club committee. The committe had created their very own version of ''Amazing Race''. We were divided into groups of four, with at least two different levels of students inside. Then, each group was given a clue each and the game started. My group members consisted of two secondary two students and one secondary three student. I was the only secondary one student. The first clue took us quite some time to figure out. Upon deciphering the clue, we rushed to our first destination, hoping to be the first group to reach as we were competing with the other groups. To our dismay, we reached there as the second group. Our first game was to complete a maze while being blindfolded, with only one of the members to guide us. We were not allowed to bump into any of the obstacles. Upon bumping into the obstacle, the game would have to be restarted. Our group took some time to complete the game as on the first try, I accidentaly bumped into one of the obstacle. (hehe, sorry team mates) Upon accomplishing the game, we had a second clue and rushed to the next destination. During the game, we got dirty with flour and wet with water but it was worthwhile. We finished the game, coming in third among all the other groups. During the game, we worked together as a team and increased the bond between each other. We also developed team spirit. At the end of the Art Club session, all of us were rewarded with some packets of snacks!!!! (Yeah!!!! :) ) It was truly an exciting and fun day.

June Holiday

During the june holiday, my father and I went to watch Kung Fu Panda 2. It was so awesome! It was very thrilling, filled with action-packed stunts. I have no preference of character as each of them has their own speciality and strengths. Their own uniqness makes them bond toghether and make a perfect team when fighting. During the show there are parts which sparked laughter throughout the theatre. Overall, I feel that the movie is a very good one as it relates to the audience the story through a balanced mix of feelings and emotions. I feel that the movie does not neccessarily to be only targeted at children only. Adults and teenagers should also watch it because the story sends a very meaningful message to the audience about teamwork and sacrifice which surpasses the marvelous fighting throughout the movie. Of course, only if one truly understands the movie rather than just watching it for the actions packed inside. I feel that understanding about team spirit can help us later on in life, be it in terms of work, playing games, organising events or other activities. It will also help us to be co-operative as a team and work toghether towards our goals. To sum it all, all I want to say is that I recommend everyone to watch Kung Fu Panda 2 if you have not done so! : )  ( Provided if it is still showing in the cinemas)
